Literature Text

I thought you loved me

But now I don't know

Was it all a lie?

Or was it that hard to watch me go?

I had to go away

But I was always yours

I promised to come back

But now we both hurt down to our cores

I thought I loved you

But the man I loved would never do this to me

You walked away from what we had

You said you set me free

Did you ever think that freedom wasn't what I wanted?

But that belonging to someone was?

What I want doesn't matter

Nor do the tears I've shed

For now we'll say goodbye

I shall harbor no hate

Because who knows one day

We may be brought together by fate
